Stage One Classes
The Little Mermaid Entr' Actes
Stage 1 Ages 8-12
Disney's musical tale of the Hans Christian Andersen classic comes to life on the stage. Upstart Crow Studios invites you to journey "under the sea" with Ariel and her friends in Disney's The Little Mermaid Jr!
Entr' Actes are perfect for families looking for a successful musical theatre performance experience for their 8-12 year old performer but with a much lighter rehearsal schedule - one hour per week. Entr' Actes literally means “between acts” and our younger performers typically steal audience's hearts with their their own renditions of the show’s catchiest numbers while the principal cast changes costumes or sets. Little Mermaid Entr’ Actes will also perform with the principal cast of The Little Mermaid as sea creatures in the big show-stopping number, Under the Sea.
Adapted from Disney's 2008 Broadway production, Disney's The Little Mermaid Jr features the hit songs "Part of Your World," "She's in Love," and the Oscar®-winning "Under the Sea." Disney's The Little Mermaid Jr contains all of the ingredients of a classic Broadway musical - great songs, wonderful production numbers, our plucky heroine, wacky sidekick and of course, the evil villain! Disney's The Little Mermaid Jr is an enchanting look at the sacrifices we all make for love and acceptance.

TAKING THE STAGE - Beginning Acting
A beginning acting class that will introduce the new student and reinforce stage skills for those students who have been in theatrical productions. Building a skill set is difficult during a rehearsal setting. This class is designed to focus and enhance the young actor's tool box for working on stage. Students are given individual time and preparation for scene work that will improve timing, diction, delivery, body language, facial expression, eye contact and action vs reaction. A great way to "take the stage" whether you have never set foot on one or you are destined to be on Broadway.

MUSICAL THEATRE - Song and Dance
All the world's a stage and our kids are the players! In this musical theatre class we use Broadway songs to learn basic musical theatre dance technique as well as the vocal technique, breath control and volume to perform with confidence! Working as an ensemble, students learn to move together as a chorus. Familiar Broadway songs from shows like Annie, Little Mermaid, Shrek, Aladdin, and Lion King will provide the backdrop for this musical theatre performance experience. This class will prepare budding teen actors with the skills and confidence they need to join any musical theatre production or audition.
